Lancaster County Emergency Services manages several community programs, including three volunteer groups: the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), the Lancaster Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), and the Community Animal Response Team (C.A.R.T.). Additionally, the department manages the Yellow Dot program, File of Life program and the CodeRED community emergency notification system. These programs are essential to community prevention, protection, preparedness, response and recovery – making our community more resilient to disasters.
Successful programs require community input and participation. It is the goal of Lancaster County Emergency Services to receive as much community support as possible. We are available to speak to community groups, provide training, and work with other community organizations to improve coordination for emergency response and recovery.
